Joseph G. Scartaccini, beloved husband, father, uncle and friend passed away June 13th, 2017 at the age of 83 in Houston, Texas. Born April 6th, 1934 in Magdalena, New Mexico, he is a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, served in the United States Navy and graduated from the University of New Mexico.

He was happily married for 52 years to JoAnn Mosier Scartaccini, and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Kindi. His career in the information technology industry began in 1960 as a salesman whose territories included the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, on to Michigan and Texas. He then became Director of Financial and Commercial Division in Mexico City, Mexico, DF. This position afforded travel which they loved including countries like Costa Rica and Brazil. After returning to Houston Texas, and working briefly for another company, he then started his own business, Mosier, Scott and Associate. He also found real estate interesting and became a Realtor in 2006. He served on the board of his neighborhood civic association, was a Third Degree in the Knights of Columbus and a proud to have served his country.

He enjoyed traveling, boating, snow skiing, tennis, jazz, was an avid reader and spoke three languages (English, Italian & Spanish). He loved his walks with his granddog, Bogie. He was most happy surrounded by family and friends, a good meal, a great bottle of wine and much laughter and love. He has been described to us in these last few days as elegant, kind, caring, wonderful, honest and a little mischievous while playing the straight man. Many we are told considered him to be like a father, a mentor and a good friend.

Welcoming Joe into eternal life are his parents, Tom B. and Ida Scartaccini. Joe leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Jodi; Daughter Kindi Scartaccini; Brother in law, John W. Mosier and wife Mary Lou; dear Nieces, Debi King and husband Robert King, Wanda Smiraldo; and a host of great nieces and nephews; Mike Smith, who was much like a son to him, and his wife Wendy Smith. He will be missed and loved forever by his family and friends.

"Those who have shown us love, brought us joy, and made us laugh have given us the lasting gifts of a beautiful life.and sweet memories to hold within our hearts forever."
